Eric is the author of six critically acclaimed novels: Money Wanders (St. Martin's, 2002), Jackie Disaster (Minotaur, 2003), Shakedown Beach (St. Martin's, 2004),Turnpike Flameout (St. Martin's, 2006) and Spinning Dixie (St. Martin's, 2007). These novels provide a glimpse at the underbelly of the Jersey Shore, tying Eric's upbringing in Southern New Jersey and his expertise in politics and crisis management into tales of mystery, suspense and journalistic insight.
His sixth novel, The Devil Himself (Thomas Dunne, St. Martin's, 2011), deals with the collaboration between the U.S. Navy and organized crime during World War II to secure American ports from Nazi attack. It is a high-energy novel of military espionage and mafia justice. Based on true events, the novel weaves together both historical facts and storytelling, to unmask the patriotic risks taken by Jewish and Italian gangsters and Navy operatives in 1940's New York.
